POLICE are hunting a man wanted for failing to comply with his post sentence supervision conditions after he disappeared on a night out.

West Mercia Police is seeking a Kieran Ridley, wanted by the Magistrates Courts for failing to comply with post sentence supervision.

The 35-year-old, who has connections to Worcester, was released from prison and was directed to reside at an approved premises in the West Midlands.

We reported in 2016 how Ridely set fire to a holiday cottage but was acquitted of attempting to murder 11 people after a jury found he was mentally ill at the time of the incident.

A jury found Kieran Ridley, 32, from Worcester, was not criminally responsible for his actions at the time he started the blaze at the property in Mallaig, Lochaber, in October 2015.

Jurors at the High Court in Edinburgh returned a not guilty verdict.

The court heard how Mr Ridley, who worked in IT for a number of City of London finance companies, regularly abused cannabis, cocaine and ketamine.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said of his failure to comply with supervision: "However, after going out in the evening on May 29, he failed to return as required."

If he is seen members of the public are asked not to approach him but to contact Police using the 999 service and quote Incident 0709s 290519.
