A MAN has appeared in court charged with breaching his sexual harm prevention order by using a false name on a Facebook profile.

Lewis Jones did not enter a plea to two charges of breaching a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) when he appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday.

The 22-year-old, now of HMP Oakwood, did not indicate a plea when he appeared at court. The charge states that the first alleged breach happened in Worcester between October 11, 2017 and October 25, 2017 when it is said that Jones, without reasonable excuse, altered a Facebook profile by using a false name.

The second breach is said by the prosecution to have taken place between September 7, 2017 and October 25, 2017. This was said to have involved him being in possession of an internet enabled phone.

Both of these activities were prohibited by the SHPO, made at the city's crown court on February 23, 2016.

No bail application was made. The case will next be heard at Worcester Crown Court on Thursday, June 27.
