The Herefordshire Country Fair returns to the Whitfield Estate on Sunday, August 4.

To mark the milestone of celebrating its 40th anniversary, it will be attempting a Guinness World Record: an apple-related challenge as befits the best cider producing county of the UK, and the fair is urging everyone to join in the attempt.

The fair will also welcome back Joseph and his Amazing Camels for some very entertaining and colourful racing.

Local celebrities in the horse world will try their hand on camel-back and compete against each other - a huge crowd pleaser and always eventful!

The Wye Valley Axemen will make an appearance and all the fair's firm favourites - show jumping, dog shows, archery, fishing, clay pigeon shooting, the motor village, terrier racing, Punch and Judy, face painting, cooking demonstrations - will be back at Whitefield.

A new feature this year will offer the opportunity to try some mountain biking - negotiating a special course through woodland, and there will be a Medieval Village for the children to explore.

Add the Food Hall and Shopping Marquee, full of the best Herefordshire has to offer, for a perfect day out.

If you and/or your family wish to join the Guinness World Record Attempt email: gwr@herefordshirecountryfair.co.uk to sign up!

You will get a bucket and a certificate as a memento, but most of all, you will leave a world record holder!
