MALVERN is celebrating after the town won another gold award in the Heart of England in Bloom awards.
The awards, run by Britain in Bloom, are run to encourage local communities to improve and care for their local environment through imaginative planting of trees, shrubs, flowers, conservation and recycling projects and to eliminate eyesores such as litter, graffiti and vandalism.
Mayor of Malvern Neil Morton met with operations director Charles Porter and volunteer Kim Clarke in the town to celebrate winning the award, which the town has done for the 11th time.
On the Malvern Town Council website, a spokesman said: “We received a Gold Award in the Heart of England in Bloom.
“Thank you to everyone who supported this campaign.”
The judges in the awards mark each town for horticulture, community and environment with 40 per cent of all marks given to horticulture, with 30 per cent each devoted to community and environment
