A NETHERTON man has been jailed for four weeks for assaulting a police constable.

Nathan Bigby, aged 27, of Halesowen Road, Netherton, admitted using threatening behaviour and two counts of assaulting a police constable. He was jailed for four weeks due to attacking a public servant carrying out their duties. He was also ordered to pay compensation and a surcharge totalling £272 at Dudley Magistrates' Court.

The following cases were also heard at Dudley Magistrates' Court last week.

Surinder Singh, aged 62, of Alexandra Road, Halesowen, pleaded guilty to two counts of inappropriate touching without consent. He received a community order and must carry out 100 hours of unpaid work over the next 12 months. He was also ordered to pay £150 in compensation, a £90 surcharge and £185 costs.

Dean Wheelwright, aged 36, of Coppice Road, Coseley, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He received a fine, compensation, surcharge and costs totalling £1,166.

Ihtisham Mahmood, aged 25, of St Marks Road, Dudley, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified from holding a licence and admitted driving without insurance. He was jailed for 16 weeks due offending while on post sentence supervision. He was also disqualified from holding a driving licence for 36 months and was ordered to pay a £122 surcharge.

Tania Cronshaw, aged 34, of Saltwells Road, Netherton, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a breath specimen when asked by police while driving. She was fined £350 and ordered to pay a £35 surcharge and £135 costs and was also disqualified from holding a driving licence for 14 months.

Alain Nishimwe, aged 40, of Park Lane West, Tipton, pleaded guilty to driving in Halesowen while over the legal alcohol limit. He received a community order and must carry out 200 hours of unpaid work over the next 12 months. He must also pay a surcharge and costs totalling £225 and is disqualified from holding a driving licence for 25 months.

Lee Jordan, aged 52, of The Shrubbery, Dudley, pleaded guilty to driving over the legal alcohol limit and admitted driving without a test certificate. He was fined £400 and was also ordered to pay a £40 surcharge and £135 costs. He was also disqualified from holding a driving licence for 12 months.
