THREE cars and a lorry were involved in a crash on the A44.
The accident happened at Docklow, near Leominster, last night.
Seven casualties were treated at the scene by ambulance medics and a crew from Leominster fire station.
Firefighters from Bromyard were also at the scene.
The emergency teams also dealt with a fuel spillage on the road.
West Midlands Ambulance Services said they had worked with colleagues from the fire service and police.
"Five patients from one car assessed and treated by ambulance staff, two taken to hospital as a precaution, three discharged, along with the man from the other car.
"Modern safety systems in cars did their job."
It has been a dark period for accidents on Herefordshire roads.
- A crash involving three cars closed the A4103 between Hereford and Worcester on Sunday morning, and one person was trapped in a vehicle.
- Earlier this month a serious accident shut the A49 at Dinmore.
- A motorcyclist and his pillion passenger were killed after coming off their bike in a crash with a tractor on the A465 near Locks Garage, Allensmore.
- A lorry driver was killed in a crash that closed the main road between Bromyard and Worcester. That tragedy brought a call for a review of safety on the A44.
- And two men in a vintage Model A Ford were killed in a crash with an ambulance on the A49 near Ross-on-Wye on August 25.
