AN ELDERLY man was taken to hospital after fire crews were called to a Hereford street where he had made a temporary shelter.
Firefighters were called to Gaol Street, at the rear of St Owen's Street, at 9.13pm on Monday evening (December 9) where the man was located.
A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "One crew from Hereford attended a fire in a homeless person's shelter.
"The ambulance service was called for one elderly male casualty."
One hose reel jet was used to put out the fire, with the man, 77, taken to Hereford County hospital as a precaution.
