INVENTORS and inventions will be the theme of Pershore Carnival 2020, its organisers have announced.

The town celebration will return on Spring Bank Holiday Monday, May 25, and the team are encouraging as many people as possible to get involved, have fun and be part of the traditional event.

Preparations are already underway and there are a wide number of ways for people and groups to get involved.

One of these is the chance for the town’s children to design the all-important carnival programme cover.

The Children’s Programme Design competition will take place in Pershore Library between February 8-22.

With the help of their parents, children can enter their ideas for the cover of the carnival programme and the winner will see their own artwork in print distributed throughout the town.

More information is available in the library.

Organisers also want to attract people for the famous town procession. Entrants can be groups or individuals either on foot or motorised and ideally dressed in costumes relating to the carnival theme.

Community groups can also choose to have a larger lorry float and benefit from a £50 float grant available from Pershore Carnival to be used towards the cost of decorating.
