THE sizzling countdown is on for the eighth Ledbury Big Breakfast, which will fill the streets and venues in the market town with locals and visiting foodies alike.

Full Big Breakfast details are now available of this year’s celebration, which will take place over the weekend of Friday January 31, Saturday February 1 and Sunday February 2.

Ledbury Food Group secretary, Griff Holliday said: "Nineteen local venues in and around Ledbury are taking part on one or more days in this event organised by Ledbury Food Group to celebrate our local food and drink producers and retailers and a healthy breakfast.

"The event takes place at cafes, pubs, hotels, butchers and delis in and around Ledbury, with a number creating special breakfasts featuring local products."

The aim is to promote interest in local fare, and venues taking part include Cameron & Swan, Chez Pascal, Malthouse Café, Market House Café, Muse Café, The Organic Café, Weston’s Cider Scrumpy House, Seven Stars, The Feathers, The Nest, The Snugg, The Talbot, Trumpet Tearoom & Gallery, Y-Pass, Ceci Paolo, Handley Organics, Gurneys Family Butchers, Wallers Butchers and the Country Market.

Mr Holliday added: "There is lots of choice from the lightest to the heaviest breakfast including eggs in all ways, a breakfast stack, a fruity oat jar, homemade baked beans, haddock with muffins, avocado and bacon, cider sausages with trimmings, breakfast baps, marshmallow pancakes, kedgeree, celeriac rosti, a vegan fry-up and locally produced charcuterie."

Ledbury Refugee Support are holding a Middle Eastern themed breakfast at The Organic Café (above Handley Organics) on the Saturday to raise funds.
