A search has begun to find a number of 'pet product inspectors'.

Marketplace website Onbuy.com wants to recruit two cats and two dogs of varying ages to review its pet-friendly products.

The animals will be paid £40 an hour to work remotely.

Pet owners will need to take high-quality photos of the gifts they’re sent through the post, and write honest reviews detailing their experience, which the team at OnBuy.com will upload to the product page.

What's involved?

Pets and owners will be required to thoroughly test each product, focusing on durability, comfort, suitability, safety, food ingredients and other qualities. Owners will be required to write a 200 word long review, including high quality imagery of their pet using the product.

The company says it hopes the reviews will act as a benchmark for pet products on its site, and help owners pick the best item for their furry friends.

Four-pawed candidates must be in good health, comfortable in front of the camera and have impeccable taste, while owners must have good writing skills.

How to apply

Cas Paton, founder and CEO of OnBuy.com said: “We have thousands of pet-related products on our site and who better to test them than pets themselves?

"We always aim to provide customers with everything they may need, and reviews are a crucial part of shopping decisions. We think the best way to get our customers the information they need when it comes to their beloved animals is with an official Pet Product Inspector.

“Depending on what a pet owner wants for their furry friend, they will be able to read an actual review from another owner's/pet’s perspective, helping them to pick the best products for them.

"The majority of our pet products are for cats or dogs, therefore we are currently looking for those in particular, however if all goes well, hopefully we can hire other animals too.”

Owners of potential pet product inspectors can apply for the role here.
