A CITY photography studio has joined a nationwide fundraiser to capture beautiful portraits and at the same time raise funds for the NHS.

Renata Clarke Portraits, in Stafford Avenue, is taking part in the Photography without Frontiers scheme. Renata Clarke, who specialises in modern women’s portraiture, said: “With everything that has been going on over the last few months I wanted to give something back to the NHS and show my appreciation to them.

“I sometimes feel they do not get the recognition they truly deserve for what they do for our country.

"The ‘Photography without Frontiers’ is a great initiative to be involved with.

"What we ask is for people to make a minimum donation of £10 through our justgiving page to the NHS Charities Together and in return they will receive a voucher which entitles them to a free portrait photoshoot with their chosen photographer and a social media image for them to use online saying they have supported the NHS.

“To me every photograph holds an extraordinary power. It tells a story, it expresses creativity and imagination of a human, it depicts something meaningful. It is also a great way of empowering people by showing them how truly beautiful they are.

"People really start recognising the importance of leaving a visual legacy that will last a lifetime, selfie just doesn’t cut it anymore. That is why we thought as photographers we should all come together in what is a very competitive industry and make a difference to a special charity.

"We want to give something back to the communities in which we live and work, along with raising these vital funds for the wonderful work that the ‘NHS Charities Together’ carries out."

More than 100 photographers from all over the UK are taking part in the fundraiser, with money raised going to NHS Charities Together that provide services that are above and beyond what the NHS alone can provide.
