FOLLOWING a flood which devastated a business centre and left hundreds of homes without power Redditch's MP wrote to Severn Trent demanding businesses be compensated.

Greenlands Business Centre was flooded and homes were left without power after a water main burst at the end of November.

Studley Road was flooded and was down to a single lane with drivers being told to avoid the area.

Following the incident Redditch MP Rachel Maclean wrote to the chief executive of Severn Trent Olivia Garfield to make sure that businesses will be compensated the full amount they’re entitled to and receive any money as soon as possible.

She also asked if homeowners were entitled to compensation from Severn Trent, or money off their next bill, as a result of the long period of time they were without water.

The MP has had a reply which says that Severn Trent will work with businesses to discuss any loss of business.

Mrs Maclean said: "I'm glad Severn Trent is working with businesses affected to discuss any loss of business, once all the restoration work has been completed."
