HISTORIC Ragley Hall near Alcester is preparing to open their spectacular Winter Gardens to the public next month.

Visitors will be able to savour the hall's stunning gardens and parkland during a period of the year when they rarely open to the public.

Ragley Hall will be opening its gates on February 16 and 17 when visitors will also be able to take a guided tour of the regal state rooms in addition to the gardens.

Guides will be on hand to share the family history in addition to regaling fascinating anecdotes and events that have featured over the nine generations who have called Ragley Hall their home.

Mark Morrell, who is the head gardener at Ragley Hall, said: "Hosting the Winter Garden Walks has easily become one of my favourite open weekends each year.

"Ragley and its gardens are spectacular in all seasons and it gives me a fantastic feeling to be able to open the gates to guests and share its beauty."

Tickets cost £5 for adults while accompanied children under 12 are admitted free.

Ticket price includes entry into Ragley's Winter Gardens. Additional tours of the hall's state rooms are available on the day for £3 per person.
