REDDITCH ‘Bandstand on the Green’ will be celebrating the start of summer with its annual vintage day this June.

On Saturday, June 15 , the bandstand will be heading back in time as the centre point for a number of musical acts, stalls and fun activities.

There will be music from the Violettes, Jazz Alchemy, and Music Makers to entertain crowds as well as a vintage car display.

The Bandstand Committee would also like to warmly welcome Royal Enfield which will be putting on a display of bikes for their first vintage day experience.

For younger residents there will also be face painting, a bouncy castle, stalls and other activities.

Val Wilson, events officer, said: “With this event, visitors will be able to take a time out from the stresses of everyday life and take a step back in time and experience everything the vintage day has to offer. We are proud – and it is most appropriate - that once again, one of the most historic areas of our town is being used as the venue for this event.”

Sue Yeng, from the Bandstand Committee, said: “In these days of uncertainty it’s reassuring to look back at time gone by and the memories which are connected with those days. I am sure this is why our vintage day at the bandstand has become such a success in previous years, catching the hearts of our Redditch community.

“How can you resist popping down to the Bandstand to absorb the atmosphere of the day – there’s nothing better than sitting around Church Green having afternoon tea listening to good music in one of the oldest parts of our town centre. This community event will be a sure winner for all the family.”

Visitors are invited to dress up or come in character to add to the atmosphere of the day.

The event will run from noon to 4pm.

Outdoor performances are subject to change/cancellation due to adverse weather conditions.
