A REDDITCH woman has been jailed after getting caught stealing four boxes of hair remover from Boots.

Cheryl Hemmings, from Holyoakes Close in Winyates, stole various items worth £77.37 from the Boots store in town last August.

The following day she went back to the same store and this time stole fragrance and four boxes of hair remover, to the value of £97.45.

The 34-year-old, whose plea changed from not guilty to guilty, was committed to prison for six weeks concurrent.

She was also made to pay victim services of £122

A Hollywood man who smashed a pub window was fined £832 after being found guilty in his absence by Worcester Magistrates.

Paul Smith, 38, of Shawfield, had pleaded not guilty to the charge of criminal damage at the White Swan Inn, where he was alleged to have destroyed a window to the value of £300 last August.

Steven Horne, from Moorcroft Gardens in Walkwood, was fined for breaking a restraining order.

The 48-year-old Spoke to Rochelle Crawford which he was prohibited from doing by a restraining order imposed by Worcester Magistrates' Court in December last year.

Mr Horne, who pleaded guilty, was ordered to pay costs of £185.

Clive Coveney, 54, from Lodge Road in Smallwood, was caught driving a car in Bromsgrove without proper insurance.

Mr Coveney, who initially pleaded not guilty but later changed his mind, was ordered to pay a surcharge of £32, and find of £100.

He also got six points on his licence.

Martin Lipai, from Prospect View in Clive Road, destroyed a glass window pane to the value of £100 belonging to Maza Hussain.

The 39-year-old, who pleaded guilty, was ordered to pay compensation of £100.

Cara Ledgister, 31, from South Street in Redditch was caught driving a Nissan Juke down South Street while drunk earlier this year.

Miss Ledgister, who pleaded guilty, was fined £250, told to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £32, and told to pay costs of £135.

She was also banned from driving for 17 months.
