THE number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Worcestershire has reached 170.
The figures, released daily by Public Health England, recorded 24 new Covid-19 cases in the county as of Tuesday, March 31.
As the Government is no longer testing people who are self-isolating with mild symptoms, many cases may not be detected.
Birmingham has the most confirmed cases of all upper tier local authorities in the UK, with a total of 650 cases.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the UK stood at 25,150 yesterday, according to official data. Of those confirmed cases, 1,789 had died.
Yesterday, a retirement living development in Kidderminster confirmed that one of its residents had died after testing positive from coronavirus. Read the story here.
The Government website says that 135 patients had recovered from coronavirus as of March 22.
The current figure is likely to be much higher and a new process for collecting numbers of recovered patients is in development.
