AN arrest has been made after police received reports of a woman being racially assaulted on a bus in Redditch.
The assault happened on the number 58 Diamond Bus when a woman verbally abused and physically assaulted another female passenger at around 5pm yesterday (Wednesday, April 29).
The bus was travelling from Woodrow onto the Studley Road towards the bus station on Ipsley Street when the incident occurred.
A Redditch woman in her 50s has been arrested on suspicion of assault and of possessing a controlled drug.
The woman remains in custody and police have launched and appeal for witnesses.
PC Megan McGeough said: "We're particularly concerned that the motivation for this assault was racial and if anyone has any information that could help us with our investigation please call 101, quoting incident reference 0380s of 29 April 2020."
