STAFF at a restaurant in Kidderminster are celebrating after being awarded a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor for the second year running.

Cafe Masala, in Mill Street, has been awarded the certificate from the online travel review website after it consistently received highly recommended reviews.

The family-run restaurant, which opened in 2003, has received an average of four and a half stars from more than 220 guest reviews. It is also rated the fifth best restaurant in Kidderminster on the travel website.

Manager, Hussain Moshahid, who runs the eatery with his brother head chef Mokbul Hussain, said they were really pleased to win the award again.

He said: “Through our hard work we are being recognised by the community and all over England. People are coming to our restaurant from the TripAdvisor reviews.

“My brother, Mokbul, is the head chef and that hasn’t changed since we opened. Our food is the same, the way we cook it is the same.

“We are known for our healthy option food. People come from the local slimming clubs because they know they can have healthy and slimming food.

“We are really pleased to win the award again. We just want to thank all our customers for their support – without them we would not be here.”

In 2011, they became the only Indian eatery in the Wyre Forest district to hold a five-star hygiene award and proudly displayed its Scores on the Doors Certificate from Wyre Forest District Council.

The business also held a Heartbeat Award from the NHS, in partnership with the district council, which recognises its commitment to offering healthy options.
