Excited guests from all over the region gathered to take a first look at a new Midlands hotel bar, which has undergone a dramatic transformation.

The Ramada Park Hall Hotel, on the outskirts of Wolverhampton and nestled overlooking the Staffordshire countryside, invested £250,000 into Mirrors Bar.

The new reception and bar, which includes luxurious sofas and fireplaces, soft wooden floors and warm, inviting colours, was created in order to help move the Park Hall from 4 to 4 star plus with a whole new food and drink offering also being unveiled into the 74 bedroom hotel.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Wolverhampton attended the launch to mark the opening of the bar, as well as the new reception area.

Angela Bir, owner of the independent hotel, said: “We have had this vision since we bought the hotel 5 years ago. We wanted to create something of a destination for food and drink lovers across the region and we wanted somewhere that people could come and relax in comfort, enjoy an exceptional dining experience and savour the best drinks array in the region.

"We believe that we have achieved all of these things and we look forward to welcoming guests in to sample for themselves.”

Katie Hyde, from Atelier Interior Design, who designed the new bar, said: “When we first sat down with Ms Bir we realised that we had to come up with something special.

"It was a challenge to bring all of the ideas together as this is a finish and look that you would normally expect in a boutique hotel in the heart of Mayfair so to be able to deliver it for the people of the West Midlands was a unique opportunity. We hope that we have created the destination feel that the team at the Ramada envisioned and that the people of Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas will be proud of this for years to come.”

Malcolm Wright from Hadley Design & Print, who project managed the refurbishment, added: “The scale of the works was enormous and we had to make sure that the hotel operated as normal. Given we only had 3 weeks to completely renovate the entire entrance, bar area and ground floor, our team worked brilliantly alongside the hotel team to ensure that no guests were affected.

"It was a challenge but the result has been terrific, it truly is a place that the hotels guests will get a wow from.”
