HARRIERS goal-getter Anthony Malbon is aiming to shoot down Alfreton Town tomorrow and bring his dream of playing at Wembley one step closer to reality.

The 21-year-old has a burning desire to play on the spiritual home of English football and also help Harrers all the way to the FA Trophy final.

But Harriers kick-off the competition with a stiff test at Blue Square Bet Premier rivals Alfreton.

At their Impact Arena home, Nicky Law’s side have beaten high-flying Newport County and Luton Town.

But Harriers go into the game in their best form of the season following back-to-back wins over Nuneaton and Telford.

He said: “I genuinely believe we have a chance of going all the way to Wembley which for young lads like Nathan Blissett and myself would be a dream come true.

“I think we’ve been playing really well in the last few weeks and I don’t see any reason why we can’t.

“Alfreton wlll be very tough, they’ve beaten a lot of the top sides at home so we can’t take them lightly but at our best we’re a match for anyone.

“Their ground is one I like playing at, they’ve got a nice big pitch and that will be a help for us.”

Malbon’s record against Alfreton is exemplary, scoring on his debut last January and in this season’s draw.

Now in his first full season as a professional the former Port Vale and Newcastle Town man is enjoing his time at Harriers.

He said: “I scored on my debut at Alfreton so I have very happy memories of playing there.

“I am loving being a professional, some of the banter with the lads in the dressing room is fantastic.

“To be able to play football every day is a dream come true.”

Harriers will assess the injuries of James Vincent, Danny Pilkington and Callum Gittings ahead of the clash, while Jamille Matt is said to be working extremely hard in training to find his match sharpness.

The 23-year-old came off the bench against Telford last weekend for his first appearance for nine months, following the all-clear from the UK Border Agency.

Assistant boss Gary Whild insists the striker must be careful not to over do it.

He said: “It’s great to have Jamille back and he’s working extremely hard to find his match fitness.

“He’s a fit lad and was already training with us but the last thing he wants is to pick up an injury, so we have to be careful with him.”

Meanwhile, Alfreton look set to be without defenders Ross Killock (face) and Leigh Franks (fractured ankle) as the duo picked up serious injuries against Hyde mid-week.
