KIDDERMINSTER College student Aaron James Bannister will be living the American dream after been offered a place at prestigious East Central College in St Louis, USA, to pursue his ambitions of becoming a professional American footballer.

The 19-year-old, who has completed his Level Three Extended Diploma in Sports and Exercise Science in June, will be studying Art and Design in the States alongside his football training.

He chose to attend East Central College in St Louis on the basis of its outstanding reputation for football training.

“I know that a career in professional football is over at about 35 so I need to ensure that I’m trained to a good degree in another field as a back-up,” said Bannister.

He has secured a scholarship that covers all tuition fees, transfers and kits but is hoping to raise approximately £4,000 to enable him to afford accommodation, food and a return flight to see his family in at Christmas.

Anyone who would like to sponsor Bannister can, email AJ.Bannister@gmail.com or email his tutor Verity Perry on vperry@kidderminster.ac.uk
