CENTURY Motorsport savoured a fine weekend in the Ginetta GT Supercup at Snetterton as Pepe Massot bagged his first podium places for the Kidderminster-based team.

The Spanish race ace bagged two thirds and a second place.

He kicked-off the weekend in fine style as he secured fourth-place on the starting grid in qualifying, while team-mate Jamie Orton bagged second.

While Orton was unable to race after coming off during the warm-up, Massott made a fine start and after seven laps secured third place.

In race two, the driver continued to excel, this time battling with championship leader Tom Ingram before coming third again.

Orton finished in eigth place after powering his way through the order.

He then suffered more frustration in race three as a collision with Marcus Hoggarth saw him block the track and put him out of action.

But Massot continued to go from strength-to-strength and guided his Simula Racing Ginetta G55 to second to seal a superb weekend.

Century Motorsport Team principal Nathan Freke said: “As we predicted Pepe did a fantastic job.

“Three very sensible drives and three podiums in his debut for Century Motorsport, we really couldn’t have asked for any better.

“I’m disappointed for Jamie as his testing and qualifying pace was a true reflection of what he’s got to offer.

“Luck wasn’t on his side in race one and unfortunately that left him playing catch up for the rest of the weekend in a position where he really should never have been.”

Century Motorsport turn their attentions to the British GT4 championship next weekend as the series resumes at Brands Hatch with Zoe Wenham and Declan Jones looking to over turn their recent run of poor results and regain their championship lead.
