KIDDERMINSTER Harriers' ever-present collosus Mark Creighton has signed a longer contract which will keep him at Aggborough until 2008.

The former Redditch United defender, whose previous deal was due to run out next summer, put pen to paper on the extension earlier today.

Boss Mark Yates is delighted to have reached anew agreement with Creighton who has not missed a single minute of first team action this season.

"He's had an excellent start to the season and we obviously want to keep hold of our best players," said Yates.

"After holding talks with Mark we're delighted he's agreed to pledge his future with us.

"His performances have been excellent, his attitute and enthusiasm around the place has been brilliant.

"We're trying to build something here and Mark is a massive part of that."

Creighton insisted there was never any question of him wanting to leave Harriers who have given him his first break in professional football.

"We've been talking about it for a couple of weeks now but it's just been a case of ironing out the details of the deal because the only thing I was certain of was that I wanted to stay.

"I'm over the moon to be staying. The club is a big club, the facilities are of a Football League standard and the backing and support we get is fantastic."

Creighton revealed the presence of Kidderminster's management duo played a major part in his decision to agree extended terms.

"The main thing for me is the gaffer and Neil Howarth," he added.

"They are two top blokes and two very good guys to work for.

"They've got my respect and the respect of the dressing room.

"Training is excellent, they have some very good ideas and whether we're having a physical day or working on the team it's really enjoyable. "
