HARRIERS boss Steve Burr was pleased to see his side defeat Wrexham 3-1 during a fractious game at Aggborough.

Strikes for Joe Lolley and Chey Dunkley as well as a Michael Carrington own goal saw the Carpetmen sink the Dragons.

But the game was packed with incident and at times referee Amy Fearn struggled to cope with the slew of drama.

"It was a great three points," said Burr.

"We know how good and well-organised Wrexham are so it was great to win a most eventful game.

"Wrexham started the better but we scored against the run of play and after that we took a grip of the game.

"I didn't want half-time to come because I thought we were on top.

"They had a free-kick which hit the bar just into the second half and then I thought we got a grip again.

"I thought we looked dangerous and full of goals."

Wrexham felt they were denied penalties in each half, both which directly preceded Harriers goals.

But the most strange incident came in the 71st minute when Wrexham's Adrian Cieslewicz saw a shot go through a hole in the side netting.

It took a full six minutes for the matter to be sorted, with Fearn rightly giving the goal after consulting with the fourth official.

Burr commented: "It was a goal, there was no doubt about that and it is first time I've seen a fourth official give a decision.

"But the goal was a goal and how the referee never saw that and linesman never picked up on it, it's hard to believe.

"There was a bit of a delay in the game but we scored the third which gave us some breathing space.

"I was pleased to get the three points as  it was a full-bloodied game."

Harriers did their best to stay focused as Wrexham became frustrated and started to pick up a host of cards.

Joe Clark was lucky to be on the pitch after a scything challenge on Danny Jackman, while Rob Bishop was shown a straight red for elbowing Kyle Storer, who Burr felt went down too easily.

"I've had a bit of a go at Kyle Storer," said Harriers' manager.

"The lad did raise an elbow to him but then for him to go down I don't like to see that. He knows where I am coming with that.

"There were one two decisions which were strange but we were on the end of one or two bad decisions at Macclesfield on Tuesday. All-in-all to get the win I am really pleased."

Victory moved up to second in the Skrill Premier, leaping above Luton.

With Cambridge being held to a 2-2 by draw by Barnet.
