Stourport Swifts are flying high at the moment after reeling off their sixth straight win when beating Gornal Athletic 3-1 in the Midland Alliance.
It follows an equally impressive 3-0 verdict at Causeway United over the weekend.
Manager Rod Brown said: “We’ve turned a corner.
“There’s a different mentality and togetherness that wasn’t there at the start of the season.
“I’ve been in management a long time now but I couldn’t see what the problem was early on. Now it seems as though everything is fitting into place”.
Brown points to the arrival of goalkeeper Lewis Solly together with the captures Michael Briscoe and Carl Fellows.
He said: “They are experienced players, big characters, very vocal and good for the younger players.
“I think we had too many youngsters early on and when the chips were down they struggled.
“I also changed the formation and it didn’t work. Now I’ve gone back to what I do best and the players suit the system we play. It’s a combination of a number of things coming together at the right time”.
Prospects continue to improve with Brown bringing in Stourbridge striker Chris Knight.
In addition, long time injury victim Lewis Pountney is set to resume training within the week.
Brown also sang the praises of his other striker Jon Griffin.
He grabbed two goals in the 3-0 win at Causeway and then struck two more against Gornal with Chris Seekings supplying a third.
