CYCLING: Andy Convery was the only Wyre Forest rider as he raced in the Hinckley CRC promoted 10 miles time trial.
Convery placed tenth from 74 riders in a time of 22 minutes and 34 seconds.
The event was won in a record time of 19-43 by Matt Clinton of the trade team Mike Vaughan Cycles.
Last week’s midweek time trial included a race for teams of two riders.
Fastest were the pairing of Wyre Forest’sJustin Walters and Jez Pile (VC Sevale) who set a two-up course record of 20-58.
Second were Jason Lloyd and Gary Jones with Lucy Walters and Paul Gibson setting the new mark for a mixed team of 23-40.
In the solo race, Sam Williams of NFTO Pro was in a league of his own setting a course record of 20-53.
Walters had warmed up for this race the previous evening with second place in the Worcester St Johns CC midweek event with a time of 22-18 while wife Lucy was first lady with a time of 25-45.
