KIDDERMINSTER Carolians continued to impress in the Midlands Division Two West (North) with a stirring 21-14 win over Shrewsbury.
Josh Winfield opened the scoring after a good work by Alex Thompson.
Shrewsbury hit back with two converted tries to take a 14-5 lead, KCs responded well when Chris Pinner put away two penalties to cut the gap to three points.
Kidderminster s had been second best for most of the first 40 minutes and although the late scores offered some encouragement, with the elements against them in the second half they certainly had it all to do.
The away side upped their game and Winfield came close to scoring before being denied by a fine tackle.
But Pinner made sure the scores were level with another penalty.
But Winfield produced another pacy burst to race past three defenders and and score on the wing.
Pinner added the extras to seal the win, before good work by Layton Wilkinson and Jack Tunstall saw the game out.
