WYRE Forest dignitaries descended on Stourport Sports Club to attend the official switching on of the new lights on the cycle track.
Mayor of Stourport Cliff Brewer, the chairman of Wyre Forest District Council Stephen Williams, the chairman of Wyre Forest CRC chairman Paul Darby and the chairman of Stourport Sports Club Richard Eastman were all present last week.
Officials at the club hope the lights will allow cyclists the opportunity to train on a traffic-free circuit for 12 months of the year.
It will be of particular benefit to riders on the British Cycling coaching course run by Nick Yarworth and the youth coaching scheme, which is helmed by Richard Pedersen who can now use the circuit throughout the dark winter months.
