WITH just a week to go until the end of the season, Bromley have already romped home to take the Kidderminster and District Table Tennis League Division One title in style.

With one round of games left to play, the Pensnett-based side are 16 points ahead of their nearest challengers, Broadheath Belters, with Cookley B and Harriers D fighting it out for third place.

It’s closer in Division Two with Harriers X just a point adrift of leaders Baggeridge, and Wordsley A and Cookley C also in contention.

Next week, the individual championships will take centre stage with the open singles and doubles tournaments taking place on Monday at Kidde-rminster Harriers Social and Supporters Club. On Thurs-day, the veterans events will be staged at the same venue.

There’s a big entry this year so players are reminded to must attend at 6.30pm sharp on both days.

The Junior entry has been disappointing this year, however, and the competition is unlikely to be staged.

Finals night will take place at the Harriers club on May 14 from 7pm, with all welcome.

Meanwhile, Kidderminster schoolgirl Charlotte Bardsley, will be competing in the finals of the English Schools Table Tennis Association individual championships this weekend.

The Heathfield School pupil who is ranked England’s number one u13 girl, will attend the event at Tipton on Saturday (25).
