POWERLIFTING: Kidderminster gym Unique Fitness saw a 20-strong squad do well at the BPO British championship, which was held in Dumbarton in Scotland over the weekend.

James Knight broke new world records in the 115 kilogram squat, 90kg bench press and a 160kg deadlift in the under 67.5kg weight class. Blythe Edgar, 16, broke world records with 105kg squat, 50kg bench and a 115kg deadlift in the under 60kg class, while Danny Brighton also won best lifter of the day after clinching the under110kg class with 295.5kg squat , 205kg bench press and 330kg deadlift.

Also competing were Dom Hill, Matt Hammond, Charlie Cox, Charlie Wilson, Audra Corbett, Sam Wills, Andy Knight, Andy Beeston, Ben Farmer, Andrea Beers, Ross Rook, Tony Rook, Kev Mayher, Don Coates, Rob Todd, Mike Haywood and Steve Knight .
