TABLE TENNIS: Awards and presentations will be handed out tonight as Kidderminster and District Table Tennis League stages its 2015 Finals Night.

The showpiece event takes place at Kidderminster Harriers Social and Supporters Club at Aggborough from 7pm.

Many of the league’s competitions have already been decided but five finals will be contested on the night and all are welcome to attend to watch some top table tennis action.

Bromley’s Steve Horton will be hoping to celebrate his recent international call-up to the England over-50s squad by regaining his open singles title.

With England ranked number 19 Adam Nutland not playing locally this season, Horton is the hot favourite to win the leagues’s blue riband event.

However, he will be up against Bromley team mate and fellow Worcestershire county player Jason Thompson, who has proved in the past that he has the ability to beat Horton.

Horton has already won the veterans’ trophy, triumphing 3-1 over Cookley’s Chris Hewitt in an excellent final held earlier at Aggborough, can he now add the open title as well?

Bromley will be officially crowned as division one champions tonight, while Harriers X squeaked home by one point above Baggeridge in division two.

The league’s annual meeting will take place at the same venue next Thursday (May 21) from 7.30pm.
