KIDDERMINSTER Harriers U11s returned home from the 2015 ESF Festival of Football Finale in Warwick with the Championship trophy.

Having earned the right to attend the finale after their success at the ESF event Butlins Minehead, the young reds advanced to the final after topping their table where they faced Loass FC and won on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

The victory was welcomed by Clint Hughes, from Kidderminster Harriers who said: “We’ve had a fantastic time at the ESF Festival of Football Finale, what a great series of events!

"Since we won the event in Butlins Minehead, we’ve had our eyes on the Finale and we’re delighted to come home with the trophy.

“I’m delighted that the kids were able to showcase their talent against the best of the best from across the country. I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved and we’ll definitely find a suitable way to celebrate.”

Martyn Young, from ESF Events said: “To be crowned ESF Finale Champions, beating some of the very best youth football teams in the UK, really is a fantastic achievement.

"The players and coaching staff should be really proud of themselves. Well done to everyone involved with Kidderminster Harriers and we look forward to welcoming them back to defend their crown in 2016.”

Since it was founded in 1989, ESF has grown to become the biggest and one of the most prestigious youth football tournaments in the UK.

The grand ESF Finale took place at the University of Warwick Football Centre, with regional events taking place at the UK’s premier holiday centres from April to July.
