MIDFIELDER Andy Ferrell is set to join Kidderminster Harriers after signing a one-year contract.
The deal becomes effective from July 1 after his contract at former club Hereford United runs out.
Ferrell was loaned from Edgar Street to Harriers in March and started in the 1-1 draw at St Albans.
However, his time at Kidderminster was cut short when he suffered a stomach injury.
The former Newcastle United youth team player was also at Watford, before he moved to Hereford United in July 2005, where he soon became a favourite with the fans.
Ferrell became an integral part of the Hereford side that won promotion to League Two in the 2005/2006 season.
However, United manager Graham Turner released him at the end of the season.
Manager Mark Yates was pleased to have got his man and said: "Andy is a player I admire. We managed to get him on-loan last season but unfortunately he pulled a stomach muscle early on - but even with his injury, his attitude around the place was great.
"That convinced me even more that he was the kind of player I want and he'll bring experience and ability to the squad."
The midfielder is Yates's second signing of the summer after striker Justin Richards joined.
