COOKLEY Girls FC under-16s secured the league title last Saturday with a 3-0 away win at Sporting Khalsa.
Goals from Jess Brett, Roxy Carter and Darcie Hancocks handed them the win they needed to claim success in a league that spans several counties and includes teams affiliated to football league clubs.
The girls remain unbeaten in all competitions for the season having won four tournaments including the prestigious Nottingham International and Continental Youth Trophies with a league cup final and subsidiary cup semi-final to play.
The basis of their success has been a solid defence which as only conceded seven goals all season, strength in depth and some exceptional offensive players with all girls playing their part in this amazing achievement.
The team, supported by Cookley Sports and Social Club, includes Abby Lawson, Baxter College; Darcie Hancocks, Bewdley High School; Evie Billingsley, Far Forest; Jess Brett, Jess Surridge, Lucie Dedicoat, Lucy Stephens and Katherine Byng all of King Charles; Michelle Cullenaine, Clee Hill.
