MANAGER Mark Yates made his fourth signing of the summer by bringing in goalkeeper Dean Coleman to Kidderminster Harriers.

The 21-year-old has signed a one year contract today (Friday) and will be challenging Scott Bevan for a first team place next season.

Coleman's arrival at Aggborough is a chance for the young goalkeeper to get his career back on track.

He came through the ranks at Walsall, signing professional terms in 2003, and made an impressive debut for The Saddlers when he came on as a substitute at Blackpool.

He was named Walsall's 'Young Player of the Year' a few seasons ago, but could not win a regular spot in the squad and was loaned to Halesowen Town in 2005, where he cemented a first team place.

He then dropped down to Southern League Midlands Division One side Bromsgrove Rovers in 2006 and made a promising start, but fell out of favour with manager Rod Brown after the 5-5 draw at Eastwood Town in the FA Cup.

However, he rebuilt his confidence with a series of fine performances for Willenhall Town, who were unlucky to lose to Rovers in the promotion play-offs final in May.

Coleman said: "It was a big drop from Walsall to the level I was at last season but it's improved my game a lot and made me much stronger.

"It's a step-back up again and now it's time to knuckle down and work hard, I'm already settling in well and there's a good group of lads here and hopefully I can learn things from them and Scott Bevan.

"I want to get involved as soon as I can and as much as I can."
