CAPTAIN Neil Pinner has called for his players to stay focused as Kidderminster close in on promotion success.

KCC require just three more wins to secure an immediate return to the Birmingham and District Premier League.

Three of their last five games came against teams that are scrapping for the Division One survival, starting with a trip to third-from-bottom Leamington on Saturday before fourth-from-bottom Himley arrive at Chester Road on Bank Holiday Monday (noon start).

Pinner insists it's vital his side don't take anyone lightly with the finishing line in sight.

He said: "They are going to be fighting to stay in the Birmingham League due to the changes taking place next year.

"They will have that determination and will be on their game and we must make sure that we are too.

"With two games this weekend it means we can quickly take another step towards promotion.

"Our overall goal is to go up as champions. We have been at the top of the league most of the season so it would be great if we could win it."

KCC took another big step towards promotion thanks to last Saturday's eight-wicket win at home to Oswestry.

Liam Weston and Chris Steele took three wickets each as the visitors were bowled out for just 106 after winning the toss and choosing to bat.

The hosts only lost Matthew Pardoe (30) and Ben Twohig (24) in reply before Shameer Ahmed (26 not out) and Pinner (21 not out) guide them to their target.

"The win came on the back of a loss the previous week so it was nice to come back and keep the momentum going," added Pinner.

Liam Weston will miss this weekend's games and Pat Brown will miss Saturday because of Worcestershire's T20 quarter-final clash.
