BOSS Neil MacFarlane has called on his Harriers players to build another unbeaten run.

Kidderminster lost their first game of the season at Chester last week but quickly bounced back with an emphatic 5-0 FA Cup success over Atherstone Town on Saturday.

MacFarlane is now determined for the Reds to maintain their fine home form when Altrincham visit in the league this Saturday (3pm kick-off).

He said: "Our aim now is to continue our good start to the season and try and go on another unbeaten run, as well as making sure we stay unbeaten at home.

"We've had a great start, are in a handy position in the league and will be going all out on Saturday to pick up another three points.

"It was important that we got back to winning ways last weekend but we also played very well and I was very satisfied with how we approached the game as a whole.

"It was a real team performance from us and that was just what we needed."

The performance of the players that came into the side, namely hat-trick hero Dan Bradley, has also given the manager food for thought ahead of this weekend's clash.

"It's now up to me to pick the team that I think will get the right result on Saturday," added MacFarlane.

"We have a small squad but everyone works hard and trains properly to make sure they are ready when they're called upon.

"Everyone that has come in this season has stepped up and showed that they can be trusted and that they're ready to have an impact, which is really important for us."

The victory hands Kidderminster a clash away at Southern League Central neighbours Stourbridge in the third qualifying round on Saturday, October 6.

The last time the team's met in the contest it was the Glassboys that progressed thanks to a 3-0 win over Dave Hockaday's Harriers in 2015.

"It's a really good draw and a game that everyone can look forward to. Before then we have a home game in the league and that is the one we will really focus on for now," added MacFarlane.

Meanwhile, Harriers midfielder Ed Williams is one of just two step two players to be named in the latest England C squad.

England C are back in action in October, hosting an Estonia under-23s at Leyton Orient’s Breyer Group Stadium.

Three Lions C manager Paul Fairclough has selected a 16-man squad for the game, which will take place at the east London venue on Wednesday, October 10 (7.45pm).

It’s a new-look group too, with the squad evolving since their last international against Wales earlier this year in March and picked from players aged 23 and under who represent clubs from the National League and below, effectively England’s non-League XI.

Williams joins FC United’s Kurt Willoughby in being the only step two players to named in what is otherwise an all-National League line-up.
