BOSS Neil MacFarlane has hailed star man Ed Williams after his double helped Harriers to victory over Bradford Park Avenue.

Kidderminster cut the gap to National League North leaders Chorley to just five points thank to another win on the road last weekend.

They bagged a 2-1 win thanks to a brace from attacking midfielder Williams, who has flourished since a summer move from Gloucester.

MacFarlane said: "The team are playing with a lot of confidence at the moment and so is Ed Williams.

"He's also taken a lot of confidence from his time with the England C team recently.

"He's got 10 goals in nine games now and has been doing fantastically well for the team and is in a real purple patch.

"But it's the team that we always look at and everyone has been doing well. We know we have goals in the building and the goals have also been shared around."

The manager at Aggborough was also pleased with the way his team responded to their FA Cup exit against Stourbridge the week before.

He said: "It does say a lot about the group and the incredible spirit that we have about us that we bounced back again.

"If we can do that across the whole season then it will help us finish as high as we possibly can.

"There will always be setbacks and defeats but it's about how you respond.

"We've also played some very difficult away games and the players deserve a lot of credit."

Attention now turns to this Saturday's home clash with bottom-placed FC United of Manchester (3pm kick-off).

"We go out to win every game regardless of the opposition and it'll be the same at the weekend," added MacFarlane.

"We'll just look after ourselves and make sure we go about our job properly. If we play how we know we can then hopefully the result will look after itself.

"We want to keep winning and keep cutting down that lead to Chorley.

"They have had a fantastic start but the fact that we're still in touching distance says a lot about our start to the season as well."

Dan Bradley missed the win over Bradford through illness but should be back in contention this weekend.
