How they rated:

Harriers 1, FC United 2

Hall: Couldn’t do anything about either FC United goals due to difficult deflections. Made a couple of good saves when called upon though. 6.

Vaughan: Worked hard as ever and got a high number of balls in the box from the right flank but often they strayed too far towards the far post. Struggled to get as advanced as he likes. 6.

Austin: A difficult afternoon for the left wing-back who again couldn’t get as high up the field as usual. Caught out as Banister had time and space to get his shot away for the visitors’ second. 6.

O’Connor: Hardly ever seems to put a foot wrong and is an obvious calming influence at the back but he was at the heart of a defence that looked shaky today. 6.

Horsfall: Harriers’ back three looked out of sorts today. No one player seems to make too many individual errors but perhaps positioning as a unit could have been better for both United goals. He carried the ball well but did struggle with the lively Simoes at times. Had a late header hooked clear. 6.

Johnson: He seemed to lack a little composure on the ball at times as United pressed. Saw his attempted block only deflect the ball beyond Hall for the second. 6.

Weeks: A really mixed afternoon for the playmaker. When Harriers were ahead and well on top early in the game he was the one dictating play. When the game turned he suddenly started taking heavy touches and his passing went astray. Perhaps picked up a knock before being replaced. Did set up the opener, however, and saw another free-kick tipped onto the post. 6.

Daniels: A true unsung hero at times as he moves across the pitch to help shut down attacks. Vital to allowing those around him to play forwards. Solid if unspectacular as Harriers never got their crisp passing game going. 6.

Bradley: Another who is frustrating at times. So much ability but can drift in and out of games. He showed flashes but nothing more. 6.

Chambers: Worked hard early on but looked a tired figure by half time. Squandered his side’s best chance in the first half with only Allinson to beat. That chance came at a key time but he dragged it wide. 6.

Williams: He glides across the turf and loves to beat his man in and around the box. All of his side’s best moment came through him but he lacked support at the key moments. A sublime controlled and confident effort to bring up his seventh goal in successive games. 7.5.

Subs:

Richards: Added much-needed energy to the home forward line late on but couldn’t find a way through. 6.

Ironside: The chances fell his way late on but he couldn’t take them. One effort squirmed narrowly wide and another was kept out by the keeper. Made an impact. 7.

Baxendale: Replacement for Weeks and kept things simple. 6.

Unused subs: Taylor, Digie.
