UP TO two fresh faces could feature for Worcester City at Highgate United on Saturday as manager John Snape continues his search for new blood.

City lost the services of flexible full-back Tyler Weir to Gloucester City this week with frontrunner Joe Bates (Bishop’s Cleeve), defender Adam Osbourne (Sporting Khalsa) and ex-Wolves youngster Josh Hesson heading out of the door in the past fortnight.

Kyonn Evans, dual registered with Malvern Town, could be in line for a return at The Coppice but Snape and right-hand man Ashley Vincent have been out and about talent spotting this week.

“We are working hard to bolster the squad but as me and Ash have said in the past, we won’t just bring in lads for the sake of it,” said Snape.

“When we do sign players we have to feel like they will add something to the squad and improve our options.

“There are a couple of irons in the fire and if we can get anything over the line in time for Saturday then great but we also have faith in the options at our disposal with a focus on the younger lads coming through.

“It is all about competition for places. We’re never going to say no to adding more of that but as I say, we only want the right sort of player.”
