How they rated: Harriers 1, York City 3.

Hall: Couldn’t do much about any of the York goals and made a host of good saves with his legs in either half. 6.

Vaughan: Mixed afternoon for the full-back who got exposed in the first half as he tried to provide some width for a very narrow Harriers. Kept working and was rewarded when he netted his side’s only goal with a well-controlled finish. 6.5.

Austin: A solid showing from the left-back who got better as the game went on despite being exposed for the early opener. His dipping effort after he cut in-field led to Vaughan’s consolation. 7.

Penn: Difficult afternoon as York were quick to pick up loose balls in midfield. Replaced after picking up a knock in the second half. 5.

Horsfall: Again offered the York attack far too much time and space in the box as they took control in the first half. Gave away the penalty for York’s third. 5.

Johnson: Caught out for York’s opener as Hawkins got in between him and Austin before teeing up Burrow. 5.

Richards: Made his first start and was full of running without working any clear cut chances. Won the late penalty that was squandered by Williams. 6.5.

Daniels: Similar to Penn, he worked hard early on but was found wanting in the centre of the park as York pinched the ball in good areas. 6.

Chambers: His finishing again let him down, particularly late in the first half with only the keeper to beat. 6.

Bradley: Struggling for form at the moment. Capable of so much more but is finding it hard to have an impact. 5.

Williams: Harriers’ best attacking option in the first half but couldn’t find a way through. Missed a late penalty that, may have sparked an unlikely fightback. 6.5.

Subs:

Weeks: Got himself on the ball after his introduction but often had to play from very deep to start moves as York sat deep. 6.

Unused subs: Taylor, Wagner, Baxendale, Palmer.
