MANAGER Neil MacFarlane has strengthened his back line with the capture of defender Aaron Phillips.

The 25-year old has joined Harriers on a short-term deal after impressing the boss in training during a trial period.

MacFarlane has worked with Phillips, a robust full-back, during their time at Coventry City – the player having racked up the better part of 100 senior appearances at League One level, as well as dipping into non-league with a loan spell at Nuneaton.

He began last season in the EFL with Northampton Town but suffered a serious hip injury that curtailed his season. Now back fighting fit, he’s settled into the surroundings within the Harriers squad over the last month and is ready for competitive action once again.

The postponement of Kidderminster's game at Spennymoor on Saturday means any potential debut for Phillips will have to wait for the visit of Brackley to Aggborough next weekend (December 8).

Meanwhile, Harriers have also confirmed the permanent appointment to the club’s coaching staff of former Birmingham City and Derby County man Kevin Poole.

The 55-year-old has been working with the staff at Aggborough for the last few weeks but will now continue to offer his expertise on a permanent basis.
