HARRIERS boss Neil MacFarlane praised his side’s “unbelievable” response as they bagged a vital victory over Brackley.

Skipper Ash Chambers netted both goals at Kidderminster got back to winning ways with a 2-0 success at Aggborough.

It was Harriers’ first win in five games and kept them in the National League North play-off places.

MacFarlane said: “It was a really good performance against a good team.

“We’ve not had the results we’ve wanted at home in particular in the last few weeks but I thought our response was unbelievable.

“I’ve said it from day one, one thing that cannot be levelled against this group is their work ethic. Their work ethic and their application from the first minute to the last today was sensational.

“We actually gave ourselves a chance in the game because we were much more solid at the start and we’ve obviously got the advantage of the early goal and we really grew into the game.

“You don’t get anything easy in this league but another pleasing factor is to keep a clean sheet and we want to keep more of them throughout the season.

“It’s a massive three points. If we can produce that level of performance again then we’ll win more games than we lose.

“The results haven’t been what expected over the last few weeks but every team hits one of these lulls. I’m happy for the players because they went through a little sticky patch and came out the other side.

“But it’s important that it’s one win and we move on to others. It’s also important to reflect on the fact we haven’t lost back-to-back games in the league and that’s a really good trait.”

“I’m also pleased for the supports, especially here. This is where we want to be winning every single week, married to our really good away form and hopefully they’ll go home a lot happier tonight.

“It’s really important now to kick on and hopefully we will.”
