How they rated: Harriers 1, Boston 2

Hall: Did okay for the most part but did get beat from range for the opener after playing Weeks into trouble with his initial ball out. 6.

Vaughan: Did well on the right at times but didn’t get as far forward playing in a flat back four. 6.

Phillips: Snapped into challenges and looked composed on the ball. Should be more to come from the full-back. 6.

Weeks: His loose ball led to Boston’s opener and often he looked backwards. Started the game well but looked short of confidence after his error. 6.

Heaton: Looked solid at times and showed some neat touches despite both himself and Horsfall struggling to deal with the presence of Allott. Gave away the hotly contested penalty that was to decide the game. 6.

Horsfall: Looked a threat at the far post from set-pieces and saw one header tipped onto the bar in the first half. No major errors at the back but couldn’t play out beyond the Boston press as he normally likes to do. 6.

Austin: Showed good energy out on the left wing and was always quick to make positive driving runs. 7.

Penn: Another who got stuck in during an ill-tempered affair and gave his side some much-needed grit in the centre against a robust Boston side. Kept things simple with his passing but rarely wasted the ball. 6.5.

Ironside: Held the ball up well throughout and took his goal well too after Bradley’s cross from the right. 7.

Chambers: It was a difficult afternoon for the forward who struggled to link up with Ironside when the ball was played long to his strike partner. Kept running but couldn’t have an impact. 5.

Bradley: Looked a real threat when he saw the ball but that didn’t happen enough for Harriers’ liking. Good cross for his side’s equaliser but faded as the game wore on. 6.5.

Subs: Richards: Came on as sub as his side chased the game but got sent off when his protests went to far at seeing a late penalty shout turned down. 3.

Clayton-Phillips: Struggled to get on the ball after his introduction and he did he was cynically hacked down by Lewis Gibbens. Should be more to come. 5.

Baxendale: Late change for Phillips but another that didn’t have an impact. 5.

Unused subs: Butterfield, Higginson.
