KIDDERMINSTER'S hopes of gatecrashing the National League North play-off picture suffered another setback on the road.

Harriers lost 2-1 at Altrincham last Saturday after again conceding early on their travels.

They went behind after just 12 minutes and were two down before the 20 minute mark. Joe Ironside pulled one back before the break but Reds couldn't force a leveller in the second half.

It is the third time in the last four away fixtures that Harriers have found themselves chasing a game in the opening 15 minutes.

Boss Mark Yates admits his side must cut out the individual errors as they look to slash the five-point gap to seventh-placed Telford United with five games left to play.

He said: "I was pleased with the performance and the attitude of the players but we've got a habit of conceding poor and strange goals.

"We gifted them another two and while we showed tremendous courage and character it was to no avail.

"We are our own worst enemy away from home at times and it's giving us too much to do. We had enough chances in the game but we didn't take them and it's a combination that means you can't win games."

Harriers will now welcome Bradford Park Avenue this Saturday (3pm kick-off) as they look to return to winning ways.

Yates is looking forward to getting back to Aggborough, where they have won three of their last four.

He added: "We have been doing much better at home so we have to make sure we continue that this weekend.

"We have to make sure we work hard and execute our plan properly.

"Our focus is on Saturday now and we'll have to show the same energy and quality and get the fans off their seats."

Meanwhile, Harriers fans looking to renew their season ticket for the 2019/20 season can do so from Thursday with a discount period in place until June.

Supporters have the opportunity between 10am on April 4 and June 7 to buy their season ticket either in full, or via an instalment plan over four months.

Adult tickets in the terrace cost £255 with East Stand and North Stand adult tickets available at £295. Visit the club's website for more details.
