STOURBRIDGE super-welterweight Sam Eggington has vowed to return from Italy with Orlando Fiordigiglio's IBF International crown.

The Savage is heading to Florence's Tuscany Hall for Fiordigiglio's first title defence on Thursday, September 19.

Fiordigiglio (31-2, 13 KOs) picked up the IBF ranking belt with a split decision win over Stephen Danyo in April, outpointing the former WBO European Champion over ten rounds to earn the fifth title of his pro career.

Eggington (26-6, 15 KOs), a former European welterweight champion, was stopped by former super-welterweight world champion Liam Smith in Liverpool in March but has since returned to winning ways with victories over Jordan Grannum and Lewis van Poetsch.

The clash is a Matchroom Boxing Italy and Opi Since 82-promoted show and is being shown live on DAZN.

Eggington is relishing the opportunity of a first fight away from British shores.

He said: "I'm just looking forward to it. It's new ground for me to go abroad for a fight and I can't wait to get over there.

"I don't feel any pressure at all for this fight and it's been that was all throughout camp.

"It's his first defence in front of his home fans and the pressure is all on him.

"Everything has gone well in camp, I had couple of fights recently so I'm pretty much on weight and haven't had to worry about that.

"I've done all I can, we'll head over on Tuesday and I just can't wait to bring back the belt.

"I'm confident I'll come back with the title and it's a challenge I'm going to embrace."
