EIGHT teams from Herefordshire booked their spot in the next round of the FA Pokemon Youth Futsal Cup and were crowned county champions.

Some 500 players formed 50 teams across the age groups in the Herefordshire FA qualifying tournaments.

The sides competed for two months to become county futsal champions and earn their place to represent Herefordshire in the regional rounds of the national competition.

The eight club winners will be joined by six school sides with the schools competition still ongoing and set to be completed in the new year.

Herefordshire clubs and schools have a fine pedigree in this competition, producing regional and national futsal champions on several occasions.

Dan Chance, futsal lead at Herefordshire FA said: "We would like to issue a big thank you to Futsal Futures for once again organising some fantastic competitions and to all the teams who turned up and took part.

"Finally a big congratulations to all the winners who will go on to represent Herefordshire in the next rounds of the FA Pokemon Youth Futsal Cup; we can't wait to see how they get on!"
