IT is being widely reported that the government are set to announce fans will be able to return to sporting events in the lowest-risk areas of the country.

A maximum of 4,000 spectators will be allowed in tier 1 areas and 2,000 for tier 2 whilst fans will still be shut out of tier 3 areas.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to make an announcement later on Monday about the return of crowds.

He will make a statement to the House of Commons, and MPs will vote on it later in the week.

Worcester is a tier 1 area at the moment but there is to be a review of the tier system on Thursday with an announcement to follow.

The Prime Minister said this on Monday evening.

"In tiers 1 and 2 spectator sports will be free to resume inside and outside with capacity limits and social distancing"

More to follow.
