KIDDERMINSTER fans have been showing their pride in the nation this week by singing and marching for the England football team.

The squad are set to face Italy on Sunday (July 11) in their first Euro final - and Kidderminster are behind them all the way.

Residents of all ages donned England kits, waved flags and sang from Sion Hill to St George’s Park in Horsefair earlier this week.

The event was organised by social media personality Kiddy Lad, who wanted to bring the community together to celebrate England’s tournament success.

Adam Woodhouse, the man behind the comedy character, decided to create a music video mashup of football anthems Three Lions and Vindaloo.

He put a call out on his Facebook page asking for residents to take part in the video just days before.

He estimates that more than 100 people turned up for the event - which ended with a football match in the park.

The video is now available to watch via the 'Kiddy Lad' Facebook page.

Mr Woodhouse said: “It’s about the community - that’s what I’ve done it for. “I like making people laugh. It was mainly about having a good time. It went really well.”

“Thanks for the amazing turn out and support.”

One resident said: “Brilliant. Gave me goosebumps, proud to say I live in Kidderminster.” Another said: “Fantastic, well done to all who were involved.”

West Mercia Police temporarily stopped traffic so England supporters could pass through safely.
