REPORTS in France suggest that Worcester Warriors' second-row forward Anton Bresler is on the verge of joining Top 14 giants Racing 92.

Rugby journalist Jean-Francois Paturaud's article for RMCSport suggests that Bresler has completed a move to the French capital with Racing, as the club look to bolster their options in the pack.

Bresler joined Worcester in 2017 from Edinburgh Rugby where he made 61 appearances, helping them to the European Challenge Cup final in 2015.

Having made seven appearances in 2017/18, Bresler became a first team regular in the 2018/19 season, impressing as a lineout jumper, hard tackler and aggressive ball carrier.

Bresler signed a contract extension with Warriors in December 2019 and made his 50th appearance in the Premiership win over Harlequins at Sixways in August 2020.

But the 33-year-old Namibian has featured just once this season, as a replacement in the 68-13 Premiership Rugby Cup win over Bristol Bears at the start of Novemeber.

He has been out with an injury for most of the 2021/22 campaign and fell out of favour last season with the emergence of the likes of Justin Clegg and Andrew Kitchener.

With Graham Kitchener and Matt Garvey also ahead of him in the second-row pecking order, it seems he is surplus to requirements at Sixways and the option of playing at the Paris La Défense Arena is not one many turn down.
